The AHQ Tour Update #1.5
6-17-02
This is an abbreviated "half" update.
Contest Results!
I know you can hardly wait for the results from our latest contest! I didn't have to wait long for some entries. The Contest Administration Board (of which I am the sole member) convened for an emergency meeting and voted unanimously to award the prize to the first two correct entries. And the winners are:
Ellen Gerig and Rick Rhodes!
There were many correct entries, thanks to all who participated. And for those of you who didn't win this time, watch for another contest coming soon.
The answer of course is that Bezaleel was a master craftsman with metal and precious stones. He was a vital part of constructing the tabernacle in Exodus 31. The theme of our program on this trip is the call of God, and Paul uses Bezaleel as an example of this in his sermon.
So congratulations to Ellen and to Rick! Ellen is a great friend and supporter of the quartet from our home church. We actually met Rick on our last trip with Paul when we were in Nashwauk, MN. Several of us stayed at Rick's house that night, and Konrad and I kept him up until the wee hours playing with his laptop. The next morning we had the chapel service for the Christian school where he was principal. You can see pictures of our time there back at our "On the Road" page in the 2/01 Tour with Paul Smucker. Currently Rick and his wife Renita and their children are missionaries with Olive Branch Missions in Grenada. Rick is an Update Brother, as he sends his own weekly email update from the mission in Grenada.
Rick, one of the contest rules that I forgot to mention was that you must come to my house in person to pick up your prize. The only loophole around that would be to fly me to your house so I could hand-deliver it! Looking forward to seeing you soon!
And now we return to our regularly scheduled program.
This is an abbreviated version of the update, what I have for you this time is some short video clips!
I have posted 3 of them on this website. Right-click on the links and then choose "save target as" to download and listen to them. They are short clips of us singing a little bit of some of the songs we're doing on this tour.
My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord
And I couldn't resist throwing in at least one picture in this update. It has nothing to do with this trip, I just thought everybody would like it.
