Besides things that really matter, who can think of a worse feeling than waking up, looking at your clock and realizing your alarm will go off in two minutes?
the by-log
A log of the days and times of Byran Smucker: a happily-married, left-handed, tenor-singing, fair-thinking, Jesus-believing, familyandfriendsandchurchandfootballandbasketball-loving, graduate student in Statistics and Operations Research at Penn State, who’s a Mennonite to boot.

Waking up, looking at your alarm clock, and realizing you're already late for work.
Maybe you're right. It's a different feeling though, I don't know which is worse.
Closing one tab in Internet Explorer 8.0 and having the whole app crash.
Listening to my hard drive make a buzzing, rattling sort of noise.
Clicking submit on a web page, and watching the server not accept the submission (just happened to me, twice).
Trying to go to sleep in those two minutes.
I hear you Byran, that is a terrible feeling. On the other end of the spectrum, however, is waking up a full hour or more before the alarm. Then you can revel in the fact that you don't have to get up. Ah, the simple pleasures in life. . .
