The Pilgrims

It's sort of ironic that our country, with the Christian roots that it has, likely would not have been so had it not been for a group of stalwart separatists who decided enough was enough in their mother country. It's sort of ironic, because if it would have been me I probably would have said, "What? No way am I moving, I'm staying right here and trying to change this beast from the inside out."

If it wasn't for them, who knows what kind of people would have successfully stuck in this fair land, and who knows what kind of foot this country would have gotten off on.

So maybe concerned Christians should pack up and start something good in South America.

There are many times that we look at other situations and say that we would never do things the way they were done, yet we find ourselves in similar situations and do the exact same thing.

Hey you don't know me, I found your site by searching for Chris Rice's song... "...still making me Holy..." whatever the title is for that. Anyways, just saying hey and you have a nice writing style, and so are you a student at OSU...? (I was confused.) Because I was wondering if you knew any juniors... particularly an Andrew Braun. He used to go to my church before moving to Corvallis. Cool guy. Anyways, now that you're probably thinking "Stalker!", I'll just add insult to injury and say major props to A Capella/Barbershop music. :) Sang it myself for a couple years. Great fun. And if I haven't totally weirded you out, it'd be cool to find out if you actually know Andrew so my blog is http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=altokate.
OK... leaving now...

So what kind of group did you sing alto for? Were you ever in Sweet Ads?

Samantha, stay around, it's fine with me. Singers are always welcome! Don't know Mr. Braun I don't think.

So if your church is a picture of that confusion should you pack up and leave? Or stick with it and try to change it from the inside out?

I sang alto in high school choir, church choir, praise team... yet for some reason my college director thinks I'm a soprano. Oh well. I never was affiliated with Sweet Adelines, no, but I sang a lot of that music. Sang bari. Easiest range, hardest notes. But still fun.

Cool! I've sang in several barbershop quartets (not AHQ!).
