I've never been stopped by a policeman, and I've never had an accident on the road. However, judging from the amount of times people have looked at me like "Wha...?" and threw their hands up in disgust, I don't know that I'm a very good driver.
Had a smashing good time with the youth group tonight. Arnie was over and was playing the tunes and we got to wailing away. The party was in honor of Help, Help Me Rhonda who came from Indiana to visit. She was a fellow Bible Schooler of several of our own.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but what was travelling through their minds was very likely not "Wha...". But it is a kind thought.

Interesting. I've been stopped many times in my illustrious and distinguished driving career, and also had an accident as a kid. Yet I don't think I've ever had people throw up their hands in disgust at me. Hmm.
What is the Beach Boys tie?
Good old Arnie. I've been in a wailing session or two with him at the keyboards.

The boys in my youth group told me the other night that I'm an accident waiting to happen. But, hey, I only got my permit 9 days ago... Lauren
DRIVE SLOW! Over confident kids with permits freak me out and drive me nuts. They are SCARY! Slow is good!
Ag
slow??? :)
Lauri
my driver's ed teacher told me that the kids in driver's ed are probably the safest drivers out there... either because we have everything fresh in our minds or maybe we're just scared into it because of the gory pictures...
either way, don't lose sleep over it, Ag.
I'm going for drivers' ed starting Sept. 13... Safty is me priority!(or, one of them!)
Lauren
Oh thank you my dear! I shall now rest easy.
My baby brother is going for his permit soon. I am scared to DEATH!

Tom, wouldn't you feel the urge to break out into song if you knew someone named Rhonda? I never did, though, it seems to much the caliber of cracking a "nice" joke in front of someone with the last name of Nice.
Yeah, it does kinda. I never have really though, because I have a cousin Ronda that I knew for years and years before I ever heard of the song. So the two never really correlated with me.
Boy, I just beg for details from home but you steadfastly avoid giving them to me.
Tom
If someone can break out into song from the name Elvira, then hey, Rhonda is looking promising.
Ag
Are there any songs about men? I mean, you have, well obviously some Rhonda song that is new to me. Um, you have the ever famous Elvira, that Sara song.....that's all that comes to mind at this very moment in time, (oh I like that, "A Moment In Time". It has potential!)Anyhow, but what songs are there about men? I personally don't know a song about Henry, or George. And NO, George, George, George of the jungle strong as he can be......does not count. And oh there is another song...."Elizabeth". That song makes me cry and kick life into perspective. But men....this is driving me crazy. I am so blank. Oh, and Bible characters don't count either.
I'm glad my name is not Cordelia A. Duckworth.

When I was singing with Razorburn we sang a song called "Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey." That's a song about a Bill. There you go Ag.
Tom, whose Heart is on Fire
there is a song about Earl, but, well, I can testify it's not worth taking the time out to listen to it. Have you ever noticed that most songs about men are, well, I mean, just not nice? Just a thought to throw in the faces of you poor menfolk out there.
Nony Mouse
For a minute I thought you were dissing Duke of Earl! Then I realized you were talking about the Dixie Chicks.
Tom
I've been listening to a great Ray Stevens tape I got at a garage sale (Surely You Joust) and he does a cool song about Dudley Dorite of the Highway Patrol.
Tom
Oh the horrible Earl song. That is fascinating though. Why don't women write nice songs about men? Men write nice songs about women, usually.
Ag
I'm sure It's not because we women have such a low opinion of men, although it may stem from having a low level of respect. Have you ever noticed how quick we are to cut down the opposite gender, and then run bawling to our rooms when they return the favor? Maybe I'd better stop, or I'll get in trouble with all other females for admitting such a thing.
Nony Mouse
There's always 'When Johnny comes marching home', which I grace the ears of those that live with me with a LOVELY and loud piano version of... Lauren
Funny. I don't remember ever running to my room shaking with hysterical sobs, or tears of any sort for that matter, because of what a guy said to or about me. I usually don't care. Maybe I should more.
Ag
It's not what they say to me that bothers me. But sometimes it does bother me when I feel like I'm doing something to offend them and have NO CLUE what I did! And I basicly KNOW they're talking to each other about me! Now THAT is annoying... And I don't cry, I just fume about them (guys) in my journal. Lauren
well one nice song sung about a guy by a girl is 'sk8r boi' for anyone who's heard a. lavigne... but, while we're on the subject, has anyone noticed that a great deal of the guys 'out there' are ...jerks? i'm not talking about my friends, so dont get all tied in knots kevin. :) neither am i making a blanket statement because there are alot of nice guys. and i don't think i'll go any farther with this unless someone else wants to.
um... how old are these songs you guys are talking about??? they must've been before my time. :/
