Auditor
I still haven't gotten over the slightly sheepish feeling I get walking around at these audits with a clipboard, following managers around. I blame that feeling on Tom.
But, today was exhausting but very, very good. We went through a lumber mill and I got going on, like, four productivity ideas. It looks like two will work out.
I don't drink, folks, and I don't think alcohol is a particularly good idea. Not a sin automatically, or anything, but I've been conditioned to view it negatively, and that negativity often has merit. But let's say you were eating at a restaraunt and someone with you ordered a big beer for the road, but decided to let it be refrigerated until he was done eating. If you were walking out to the car and it was obvious that he had forgotten about it, should you say anything?

I would refrain from reminding. Having an 'open container' in a car while driving/riding is illegal. Better for him to lose a couple bucks than to spend the night in jail.

I'd have let him forget. What did you do?
Rosie!
On me?!!!! Why?! Ha ha!!
Let me guess. Because I've educated you on what the average factory employee thinks of management, and you're being lumped in with management?!
Ha ha! Don't let it make you feel sheepish, instead let it make you always treat the lowly floor employee with respect and dignity, realizing that they are grossly underpaid and often ignored and disrespected by the management. And very often aren't given the SUPPLIES they need to do their job!!! How much sense does that make? Just like the Israelites in Egypt, having to gather straw in addition to making the bricks. Believe me, I've made plenty of bricks and have had to gather my own straw for way too many of them! Bonehead management.
Oh yeah, the booze question. Who was driving?!! Hopefully not him, and if you were you might not want to be stopped with an open container!
Was this person in management? He sounds kinda boneheaded. Maybe you should hang out with lowly factory workers like me more instead.
Tom
First, this didn't happen. He didn't forget.
Second, he didn't open it in the van.
Do you enjoy, "Just supposes"? :-)
