One other interesting note about the concert on Thursday. Concert Choir did Hal's arrangement of the spiritual Knockin', which AHQ was offered! We tried it but it never "took" with us. It was cool, very well done.

We had a party for Hal this afternoon.

I don't think there's any feasible way for me to sing in Chamber next year, but it would be so, so great.

Then I hanged out with Brandon and Carrie. I don't do that very often, just hang out. It was fun.

Oh yeah, there was an IAC picnic tonight. There'll be some good people to work with.

Sam Haines was there, it was good to see him. He was telling me about what he's doing on his internship, it sounded pretty cool. Statistical analysis, a scheduling problem. Sounds like he's hitting the high points (from my perspective) of the IE discipline.

I've really got to make sure I really enjoy what I decide to do. Will I be satisfied as a statistician? And more than that, will I really enjoy it and have passion about it?

I'm not quite sure yet.

I need a stimulating musical outlet, somehow.

Who had the party?

They did Knockin'?? Man I sure would have like to heard it. You weren't very honest, AHQ didn't do it because I was pretty much the only one to want to. Someday I'm going to do it, I promise you Hal.

I miss Hal.

Bring the boys out here, I'll give you a musical outlet.

Tom, let's do it this way, less people to move. If you come out here, I'll make time in my schedule to sing.

The song just didn't go for us. I don't think we had the vision of what it could be.

One of the girls--Rachel--of the Chamber Choir helped organize the party, I think. Maybe you sang with her last year. The little group of chamber-alumni wanted to sing, but we were too spread out years-wise, so we didn't know much of the same music.

Yeah, I know Rachel, she's a soprano. I sang with her, first in Concert Choir I think, then Chamber.

Didn't have a vision for it. What's that supposed to mean?

We didn't realize how cool it could have been, and because of that we didn't really give it enough of a chance.

Oh, yes. That's exactly right.

By, I agree you need a musical outlet. Let me say from experience that if you don't find something, your soul's gonna shrivel up and wither away. Music is an important part of the way you are wired.

Hang in there!
