Purpose was a unique project for us, as this was our first time using a studio specializing in a cappella recording. The artwork was again done by our friend Martin Grandahl, who designed our last album "Lookin' Up."
Purpose includes a wide musical variety of all a cappella gospel songs. Uptempo tunes like "I'll Live Again," "Strong," and "When I Lift Up My Head" balance the slow and soft songs such as "And Can it Be," "Invocation," and "Hit the Mark." Songs like the contemplative "Forgiven Says it All" and the worshipful "Stand in Awe Medley" add more diversity to the album.
Once again Dale Kropf is included on our list of songwriters, and another three cuts (including the title track "Purpose") are AHQ originals. We're also proud to include another two Wayne Hooper King's Herald's spirituals, "My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord" and "Keep in the Middle of the Road."
Once again, Martin put together a great photo collage for the background of the CD insert. Click on the image below for a larger version.
