About the Arrangers
Roger McCracken, our arranger of Nearer, Still Nearer, is a professional opera singer who travels the country singing bass roles for various opera companies. He has also been a voice instructor for Tom and Konrad. He arranged this song for us in the "English eclectic choral tradition," of such composers as Benjamin Britten and Raif Vaughan-Williams.
Gordon Kuryluk, our arranger of There is a Fountain Filled with Blood, is a long-time musician and former high school band and choir director. He currently owns his own recording studio, Kuryluk Music Company, where he does many custom recording projects. He also sings and plays piano for his part-time gospel group, Cornerstone. He and his wife, Peggy, are the parents of two daughters.
Rosie Smucker, our arranger of There is a Balm in Gilead, recently graduated from Westminster Choir College with a Bachelor of Music degree. She is a long-time friend as well as quartet advisor and voice teacher. She currently teaches fifth and sixth grade in a private school.
Guest Vocalists
It was a privilege to have our parents join us on this recording as guest vocalists. The second verse of It is Well With My Soul is sung by them, and they also collaborate with us on Whispering Hope.
